Brenda Dickson's Second Act: Part Two

Well hello! And welcome to the second part of my ongoing look at Young and the Restless star turned cult YouTube sensation Brenda Dickson. In this portion, we're going to talk about the fanmade videos that have taken Brenda's internet celebrity to that next level.

Above you'll find the funniest Brenda Dickson tribute (and, frankly, one of the funniest clips on YouTube, period), Welcome To Our House, by comedy duo Julie Klausner and Jackie Clarke. My friends and I are insane about this clip, and we constantly interrupt whatever we're doing--reading, holding a cat, or meditating--to quote the wisdom of Natalie Hammer and Nina Hammer-Ortiz, stars of The Rich Cry Too.

But there's so much more where this came from! Click "Read More" to teleport into the heart of Brenda Dickson fever. Only through the magic of Hollywood!!

The most exciting development in recent Brenda Dickson news is the long-awaited release of Julie & Jackie's Welcome To Our House #2: Exuhcise. Not only will you learn how to get in shape like Natalie & Nina, but you'll get to see them in action as they "torture, kill, and eat men" in an episode of their popular soap opera.

BUT WAIT! THIS JUST IN!

The very day I submitted this article, Julie & Jackie released their latest installment, Welcome To Our House #3: Hygiene & Make-up. Here it is, and it's their most over-the-top effort yet (watch out for mature language, as they say):

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. There's a whole subgenre of Brenda Dickson spoofs, including Deven Green's hilarious (and--you've been warned--also pretty, ummm, mature) Brenda Dickson voice-over, which has itself acquired a dedicated cult (by which I mean "gay") following. Like this young feller, who has gone so far as to remove Brenda from the equation entirely by lip-synching to the voice-over.

I guess that means she's finally a true pop-culture icon--if you tried to do this with, say, Robin Mattson, no one would have any idea what you were talking about. Has Brenda Dickson's comeback vehicle finally panned out, twenty years after the fact?

Find out in part three of this special report, in which we'll say, "Well hello!" to the real Brenda Dickson, the woman behind the YouTube phenomenon.
