WGA Strike Updates

wstrike.bmp

Hollywood is in crisis mode right about now as the Writer's Guild of America (WGA) Strike hits full swing. Some shows are already affected including The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, as well as Leno and Letterman's talk shows. It's no secret that nearly every show will eventually be hit by the strike. As it is Tina Fey, Julia Louis Dreyfus, and the cast of The Office have walked off set and joined the picketers.

Most shows have enough scripts to last until the standard mid-season break. After that though the cards have yet to fall. So what's the status of your favorite shows? Thankfully, the LA Times has given us a nice chart to let us know where a lot of the most popular shows are standing.

Have a peek for some highlights.

Desperate Housewives has episodes through the first week of December. Unfortunately, that may leave viewers in the lurch as to the resolution of the upcoming Tornado episode that is rumored to claim the lives of 2 Wisteria Lane residents.

Grey's Anatomy has 13 of 23 episodes written. Eleven of them have been shot, six have aired and five are in the can.

Lost is a deep concern. Eight out of sixteen episodes are ready. Rumors are rampant that ABC might hold the new season until next fall or even until February 2009.

24 is facing a similar dilemma. They currently have eight of twenty-four episodes completed. Gonna be tough to stick with the real time format if they have to stop after eight episodes.

Battlestar Galactica has 10 hours of episodes as well as the two hour Razor movie ready to air next fall.

Check out the link for info on other shows including 30 Rock, Stargate Atlantis, Nip/Tuck and more.

I really hope this doesnt mess with the final season of Battlestar Galactica, apparently the start date for next season is now sometime in the spring '08 (instead of January '08) and there are rumours that they are gonna split the season (which the writers strike may neccesitate). The late start date doesnt bother me too much, but I really want the final season in one go, not two chunks.

And girls who like girls who like stuff!
