Dark Knight Trailer Online!

not_heath.jpg

Check it out!

The Dark Knight trailer is here, in delicious high-definition. I think we can all agree that the first Christopher Doyle (whoops!) Christopher Nolan Batman movie was one of the most successful reboots of any film franchise, thanks to a first-rate cast (I have literally had a crush on Christian Bale since I was 8) and some incredibly rich cinematography.

As you must already know, The Dark Knight ups the ante by replacing (ugh) Katie Holmes' Rachel Dawes with (yay!) Maggie Gyllenhaal. And if this trailer's any indication, it looks like Heath Ledger will make a most exciting Joker—his few seconds onscreen bleed an awful lot of rage and melancholy for somebody with such a big smile onhis face.

So forgive me for being most excited to see so much Gary Oldman in this trailer! His Gordon in Batman Begins was almost unrecognizably understated, one of the film's secret weapons, and I expect great things from him again.

Isn't it nice to watch an action trailer that leaves you thinking about the characters, instead of the explosions?

(Although the explosions are nice, too.)

Yay Chicago!

I saw a trailer in the theater this weekend and I was floored. From the looks of things, Ledger will be playing a fantastic and dark Joker. I just can't wait for this flick!

The trailer does look awesome, but it's Christopher Nolan, not Doyle. :)

The prologue is even more impressive. It's shown before IMAX screenings of I Am Legend. You can find it online but it is routinely taken down, but put up again when the lawyers aren't looking.

Try this from DarkHorizons.

Ha! Of course you're right--Christopher Nolan. A Christopher Doyle Batman would be pretty interesting, though...

And girls who like girls who like stuff!
