Hypothetical Clash Of The Web Series
The vast majority of "web sitcoms" range from mediocre to only mildly amusing. The online series Quarterlife, for example, doesn't come anywhere close to the quality of its creators' earlier achievement, My So-Called Life. Yet Quarterlife is due to air on NBC in early 2008.
If there were any justice, the web series Duder would be filling that slot. Created by gay writer Matt Kirsch (who also plays a lead role in the show), Duder follows the lives of a group of affable young New Yorkers. Clearly drawing influences from Curb Your Enthusiasm, Duder's neurotic tomfoolery is intensely funny and its characters are authentic and likable. The show lends itself well to the Youtube scene because in addition to full episodes, there are several short "extras" which present quick snapshots of the characters' quirks and peculiarities.
Unfortunately, Duder hasn't been updated in about six months. But I've got my fingers crossed for more funny business from a set of angsty twenty-somethings who aren't on Quarterlife.

Don't worry - we're coming back - working on season 2. Episodes will be shorter, much more frequent, etc, woo! Thanks for the post.
