The Whale Hunt
How many times has this happened to you? You go on a trip, and afterwards, you think to yourself, "Man, I wish I'd gotten a picture of myself sleeping. And also that cetacean I harpooned."
Well, the participants in The Whale Hunt don't need to worry about that, because they literally got a picture of everything. An intimidating number of photographs document artist Jonathan Harris' subsistence whaling trip with a family of Eskimos in excruciating detail. The excursion spanned about one week and over three thousand photographs. One photo was taken every five minutes (even while Harris slept), with more taken during moments of particular excitement.
Interesting concept, and to say the least, a lot of work went into this. If you're at all squeamish around gaping whale carcasses, you might want to take a rain check. Otherwise, enjoy.
