Will Arnett To Voice KITT In Knight Rider Movie

knightrider.jpg

Should I be ashamed? When my RSS reader gave me the Ain't It Cool News headline "The New Voice of KITT Is..." I yawned and said, "Next!" They cast the voice-over part of a talking car in the sure-to-be-wretched, made-for-TV remake of an already corny show (albeit one I loved as a child. I mean, LOVED. I mean, I think I was literally a member of the KITT fan club. I distinctly remember receiving a souvenir KITT schematic blueprint in the mail. Does anyone else remember this, or was it a dream? Okay time to end this sentence)? I could not have cared less who plucked that particular plum of a role.

If only I'd known that the conclusion to the headline was "...G.O.B. Bluth from Arrested frickin' Development"—I would've clicked through to the story with trembling fingers. Will Arnett is one of the most hilarious dudes on the planet, and his voice is his best asset. Suddenly I've veered from not caring that this project was ever even imagined to wanting to see this thing now, now, now.

Oh, yeah, I guess there are going to be humans in the show, too. Whatever. It is said that never-that-sexy sex symbol David Hasselhoff may return to make a cameo as the original Michael Knight; more importantly, Hoff's replacement will also play a guy named Mike, possibly giving Arrested Development fans a chance to hear KITT say of his new shape-changing abilities, "It's not a trick, Michael! It's an illusion."

Also! If you read this story about the Knight Rider press conference, you get to read some comments left by totally, totally insane people.

Arnett has a great voice. This I realized after I learned he was the narrator in the fake trailer for "Don't" in "Grindhouse" earlier this year.

And girls who like girls who like stuff!
