J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Teaser Online

Sweet.

I've heard all sorts of things that make me wonder how good this latest "re-imagining" project will turn out. From the wonderfully hand crafted sets being replaced with computer graphics to just getting their act together in every way. Only time will tell, but the first fruit, if you can call it that, of their work has finally made the jump from bootleg to official.

Star Trek's teaser trailer has finally been released on the film's official website. The first thing that surprised me was that the ship appears to be the Enterprise A model, not the Enterprise from the original series. I'm not disappointed at all since I am a huge fan of the original six films and the original series (sorry, I love TNG, but not the films, though First Contact was splendid). It was certainly good to see that ship again. The teaser's climax consists of a view of the Enterprise's name and saucer coupled with Leonard Nimoy's classic rendition of, "Space...the Final Frontier." That was enough to get me all hot and bothered, and then they top it off with the classic Starfleet emblem with the original transporter sound in the background. Wonderful.

Below the trailer, you may notice a little red light next to the 'Under Construction' sign. If you click it, you get taken to a page with four blurry camera views, the last of which is offline. If you play with the focus settings in the bottom right of each camera, you get security cam views of the Enterprise under construction. Makes me wonder what the 4th one is, and given Abrams' track record, what hidden clues there are in each of them.

And girls who like girls who like stuff!
