Oops, I Married My Twin!

Who could make this up? A pair of newlyweds in London got a neat surprise when they tied the knot - they discovered that they were brother and sister. What's more, they were twins.

Adopted by separate parents, Creeped-Out Bloke A and Horrified Lass B met later in life "and felt an inevitable attraction." Needless to say when the truth came out, their marriage was annulled and air sickness bags were provided for the entire wedding party.

I ain't no twin, but I imagine that if there is an unspoken bond between fraternal twins, and if the whole life-long "We're siblings" conditioning is absent, then there might indeed be some confusion as one finds oneself drawn to what appears to be a perfectly acceptable candidate for intimacy.

To help avoid what critics everywhere are already decrying as the next threat to civilization, House of Lords member David Alton - who revealed the sticky situation - is pushing to prevent legislation that would allow the identity of a biological parent to be expunged from the birth certificate.

This all just reinforces what I said to my childhood friend Bucky when we were knee-high to a grasshopper back home: "Me sleepin' with your brother is a mite better than you sleepin' with your own sister." Poor Bucky.
