Jerk Challenges Gay Judge

More news from Ohio: The Hon. James D. Piergies, challenging the apparently slightly more Hon. Mary Wiseman (not pictured) in a Democratic primary race, argues that Wiseman would ethically have to recuse herself from gay rights cases, on account of she is a gay and also supports gay rights.
Wow. Prejudice! Gross!
Wiseman, considered Ohio's first openly lesbian judge, pointed out that if this standard were applied consistently, the brilliant Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall would have had to recuse himself from all Black civil rights cases. To which Piergies replied basically, well yeah he should have! At which point witnesses near Justice Marshall's tomb reported the low, grinding sound of a genius slowly rotating in the grave.
Wiseman's attempts to backpedal, yet remain consistent, yet seem sane, yet not alienate the bigots, produced my favorite sentence from this news story:
During the first interview Piergies said that is what he was saying, but in a later interview he reversed himself and said it was not what he was saying.Smooth! Yeah, everybody in Dayton, don't vote for this guy.
