Mittens Bashes The Gays On His Way Out

mittens.jpg

Multimillionaire, former governor and now failed Presidential candidate Mitt Romney took a very special moment in his dropout speech to denounce gay families and the judges who would support their right to legal recognition.

Towleroad has the soundbite:

The development of a child is enhanced by having a mother and father. Such a family is the ideal for the future of the child and for the strength of a nation. I wonder how it is that unelected judges, like some in my state of Massachusetts, are so unaware of this reality, so oblivious to the millennia of recorded history. It is time for the people of America to fortify marriage through constitutional amendment, so that liberal judges cannot continue to attack it!
Romney, whose church practiced a creative definition of family little more than a century ago, failed to specify just how many mothers each child should have. Oh snap! But wait, there's more. He also has the cojones to say, in support of our current foreign policy:
These Jihadists will battle any form of democracy—to them, democracy is blasphemous for it says that citizens, not God shape the law.
What?? They want God to shape the law? Darn them! Wait, that sounds like certain politicians I could name...

Well, yeah, whatever. We don't have to care anymore. Get off the soapbox, Mitt, and don't let the door bop you on the tuchus.

Hmmm... interesting, Mitt. Especially since no relevant and meaningful scientific evidence supports your little "social theory" that gays make worse parents.

And you know, go ahead and make gay marriage unrecognized by the law, everywhere. Will this stop us gays from getting married? No it won't. Will it stop us from having/adopting children? No it won't.

What a douche.

Yep, I listened to his speech on Natl. Public Radio today as I drove to school. There was much guffawing and head-shaking on my part.
I think the NPR commentator announcing what was up to listeners just joining seemed a little exasperated after that crap.

And girls who like girls who like stuff!
