Fatboy Is Phat

It is basically a given that anything Simon Pegg stars in is going to be pretty good. Living proof that a scruffy nerd can possess mesmerizing charm, the Shaun of the Dead star shines in the UK comedy Run Fatboy Run, due for a US release in late March.
Fatboy is jointly written by Pegg and Michael Ian Black, and inexplicably directed by Ross from Friends. Pegg plays a down-on-his-luck security guard who decides to run a marathon in order to win back the heart of the girl he left pregnant at the altar.
It sounds a bit formulaic, and it sort of is. But as usual, Pegg brings freshness and wit to the "sympathetic deadbeat" persona, and audiences will find themselves genuinely rooting for him.
Run Fatboy Run will be released in theaters stateside on March 28th.

SIOUXSIE SHIRT!
I saw this movie when it was released over here in the UK last year. It was pretty funny, but it was Dylan Moran that stole the show, as usual, more than Simon Pegg. The movie seems to drag when Moran's character is not on screen, and the cheeseyness of the film definitely does mar the enjoyment of it in the end. But I wouldn't be opposed to seeing it again all being said.
