History Of The Wilhelm Scream

io9 has a cute piece devoted to the Wilhelm Scream, the sound that nearly everyone makes in a Hollywood movie (esp. a George Lucas movie) when they are shot and/or fall off of something. It is literally a single sound, drawn from the Warner Brothers archives and reused a billion times by in-jokey sound editors whenever they need somebody to get eaten by alligators and say AIEEE!

But I insist that io9's clip of Wilhelm Screams isn't quite as fun or informative as the above history of the Wilhelm Scream, which I done ganked off YouTube, and which was created to accompany the ever-popular Masters of Horror series of sub-par screamers by first-rate directors. Enjoy!

Fun!

I actually recently found out what that signature scream was called on wikipedia.

The last movie I saw that used it was Quentin Tarantino's "Deathproof"^_^

And girls who like girls who like stuff!
