Singaporean TV Station Fined For Normalizing Homosexuality

Kudos to Goblin over at Pink Kryptonite for tipping me off to this one. Singapore's not really known for being terribly open-minded in the first place when it comes to the gays, but fining a TV station over ten thousand U.S. dollars for airing a gay-friendly episode of Find and Design seems rather overkill. That's an A&E show, by the way, in case you were wondering why you haven't heard of it.
Boo on you, Singapore. In the words of Margaret Cho, I hope you enjoy crafts.

Oh Singapore... and people wonder why I left that place...
Singapore also blatantly looks the other way when it comes to hate-crimes and harassments involving Homophobia unless someone gets really hurt (and you must get REALLY hurt) or killed. And even then, it won't mention that it was a homophobic hate-crime...
It might be the most modern and efficient place in the world, but it is very backward place when it comes to acceptance of LGBT and will remain so until the old Conservative Chinese men who run the place are long dead and replaced... which will be another generation or 3...
