2009 Is Year Of The Muppet

A live-action Fraggle Rock musical sounds potentially horrifying, but the language is deceiving; upon closer inspection, it looks like the Weinstein Company's new project will be more along the lines of The Muppet Movie and less along the lines of Sesame Street Live.

Murmurings of a feature film based upon the 1980's children's show have been around for some time, so it's nice to hear something concrete. A release is expected in 2009.

Also planned for 2009 is a sequel to The Dark Crystal penned by the writer of the original. As long as McCain doesn't become president, I anticipate 2009 to be one big joygasm.
