Barbie's Gone To The Birds!

This may very well be the most awesome thing I have ever seen in my entire life.
Seriously.
Mattel is making a special edition Barbie doll based off Tippi Hedren's character in Alfred Hitchcock's classic thriller The Birds, right down to her carefully-tousled blond hairdo and tacky '60s pea green outfit. And it comes with little birds to attach to her! Awesome!
Now when do we get the Ken as Norman Bates with bonus "Mother" outfit?

and she is STILL trying to smile!!!
i have been coveting a very similar madame alexander doll for a while now. (check out my forum avatar) however i bet this barbie will have a more reasonable price tag.
Genius
You brought the birds here. You're evil! EVIL! (That line will always stick with me.)
Ah, the misogyny of Mattel meets the misogyny of Hitchcock. (Though don't get me wrong, I'm totally buying this when it comes out.) Ever notice how all women in Hitchcock films who "transgress" social standards end up pecked by birds, stabbed in showers, or otherwise killed/endangered/punished?
Still, I'm amazed at Mattel for even marketing such a thing. Clearly they know (like Playgirl, ahem) who a big part of their market is.
