Watchmen Trailer
This is it, Popsuckers; the trailer for the Watchmen movie, due for a March 2009 release. Alas, I still have yet to read the acclaimed comic book series it's based upon, but I'm told it looks remarkably faithful to the source material.

I honestly can't say whether I would recommend you read the series before seeing the movie or not.
All I can add is that I've read Watchmen a dozen times in twenty years, and the trailer brought tears to my eyes.
If the movie does end up as true to the book as it looks (and it looks incredible) then Watchmen will be on par with Bladerunner or The Matrix.
And for us Alan Moore fans, the pain of having sat through League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and V for Vendetta will finally pass.
So far I love how everything looks, except for Ozymandias' costume. That thing's just 2 nipples shy of coming from a Joel Schumacher Batman movie.
i can't tell you how long i've been waiting for this movie.
and it looks like it'll deliver, not just story wise, but it looks very true to the visual style of the book. and the casting looks great. i would have never thought of billy crudup as Dr. Manhattan, but i think he would be the perfect choice. i don't think i can wait a year!
and while league did suck, i liked V, despite it's clear and limited "bush is bad" message. the book was so much more than politics, but it was still well done, whatever moore may say.

It looks good. especially the whole mars bit. but that is the key word "looks". In terms of a Watchmen movie that would be the least of my concerns. I have serious doubts that those involved can translate the comic to the screen. No spoilers, but the ending is so un-hollywood, I cant see them keeping it. Oh how I would love to be wrong...
