Toonami Crash Lands
Cartoon Network's anime/action block "Toonami" has undergone a pretty radical evolution over the years (remember when it was hosted by Moltar?) but it's sadly been brought to an abrupt end as of last Saturday. Check out TOM's final broadcast for yourself.
Toonami's exit won't leave too large of an anime-shaped hole in Cartoon Network's schedule, since Naruto was really the only Japanese show in their most recent lineup. The future of Naruto on Cartoon Network is a bit uncertain, but you can still get your anime fix Saturday nights on Adult Swim.

I remember many a afterschool afternoon spent watching random ass cartoons and chowing down on whatever was around to eat. Sure I lost track of it a bit during highschool and college, but it still held a tender place in my memory. And end of a childhood institution. I don't remember being this sad over a TV programming block since TGIF got all weird and jumped itself off a cliff.
Um, Adult Swim was pushed to like 5 in the morning, wasn't it? And not doing well, any of the shows including Code Geass, so it'll be gone eventually. Anime on TV is pretty much dead. RIP.
