Nick And Nora Employ Gay Trifecta

This interesting review of Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist makes note of something I wasn't previously aware of: the film's comparative surplus of gay characters. Michael Cera's character has a total of three, count 'em, three gay male friends, and it sounds like they're fairly realistic portrayals as opposed to some sort of gimmicky throwaway comic backdrop.
Even in light of the trendy hipster style that's fashionable these days, it's refreshing to see a teen movie that still manages to truly go against the grain. This ain't no Juno, my friends.
'Nick and Norah' review: Well-chewed gum still has flavor left [Seacoast Online]

I saw Nick and Nora and I was very happy with how the gay characters were portrayed in this movie!
[Slight Spoiler Warning?]
I was happy to see the straight main character, Nick, being the guitarist in his gay friends' rock band. Also that one of his gay friends was level-headed enough to give Nick solid advice with his girl issues. Hahah, but even when the characters stumbled onto a drag show, the humorous aspects were done "tastefully" and not in a "look at these silly homos" kind of way.
If there were any complaints, it wouldn't be the movie, rather the dudes sitting next to me that remarked "Fucking homos! I'd have blown the place up..." and a few other lovely gems during the movie.
I really reccomend the movie! Nick and Norah > Juno, IMO.
there were some awkward moments in this movie that were hard to get past... such as every time that gum was re-used (yuck!)
