Scott Pilgrim's Cast Levels Up

Two new cast members have been announced for the upcoming Scott Pilgrim film adaptation.

The role of Julie will be played by Aubrey Plaza, who's basically an unknown, though she will be in the upcoming Judd Apatow comedy Funny People.

Meanwhile, the role of Scott's hip gay roommate Wallace Wells will be played by Kieran Culkin, whom you may have seen in Igby Goes Down, or in The Mighty when he was much younger. I'll submit that Kieran is marginally more talented than his brother Macaulay, but is he really awesome enough to take on the role of Wallace? We shall see.

Scott Pilgrim is a series of truly delightful graphic novels involving a modern world where video game rules apply and indie hipsters battle psychics and ninjas on a regular basis. Seriously, you should be reading this immediately if you haven't yet. The movie will be directed by Shaun of the Dead's Edgar Wright and star Michael Cera as the titular hero.
