Retrophilia: Amateur Modeling

retrophilia (ret troh FEE lee uh) n. 1 An intense attraction for things of the past. 2 a weekly series for popsucker wherin the irrepressible Wootini reveals the horrors of the past to the present to avoid making the same mistakes in the future.
Okay, we all know that the seventies was not a good decade for fashion. Or hair. Or makeup. Or anything, really. Well, except for movies and music. Those rocked in the seventies. At any rate, everyone expects the people of the seventies to be a wee bit funny looking. Well, make the jump to see an ad featuring models that couldn't look more awkward if they tried!

Now, I don't mean to be cruel, but where did they find these people? I mean, I guess the one in the front is pretty good, which is probably why she's front and center. The one in the back on the right seems like she'd be pretty, and has the chest of a fashion model (which is to say a 13-year old boy), but her eyes are dead. She's like a zombie model waiting to eat the brains of the woman in front of her. And speaking of the woman in front of her? Is she someone's mom? I mean, really? And the best thing you can say about the one way in the back is that she has a nice rack. I know that's totally a sexist thing to say, but I'm pretty sure it's not when a gay guy is saying it.
Of course, regardless of how good-looking the models are, I still can't believe that anyone, anywhere at any time ever thought that tight, high-waisted jeans would look flattering on anyone. For crying out loud, even the chick on the right with the flat body doesn't look good in them! How in the world did they think this was going to help sell their T-shirts?
That said, I kind of dig the Who T-shirt... I like the color scheme...

The 70s were also good for gay sex.
