Retrophilia: Dirty Shoes

retrophilia (ret troh FEE lee uh) n. 1 An intense attraction for things of the past. 2 a weekly series for popsucker wherin the irrepressible Wootini reveals the horrors of the past to the present to avoid making the same mistakes in the future.
Well, just from this thumbnail, I'm sure you can guess that this week's ad comes to us from the glorious '70s. But these women aren't selling sunglasses, although they're featured in this image. No, in fact, they're selling shoes. Yeah, I'm not really spoiling anything because that's in the title of this entry. No, what you'll find after the jump is the curious way that they've chosen to sell the footwear...

They pretty much did my job for me. There's not a whole lot I can had to "bareback action!"
I mean, I have to assume they knew what that meant, because if they just innocently used that tagline to promote their line of backless shoes, then... well, they need to get out more.
And hey leather bareback is only $21.99! (Although I think The Smoothie is probably more my speed!)

Polished woods DO have a history of generating mileage on layered bottoms.
Oh. My. Gosh. Yes. It's about as bad as the iPad.
