It was 1980 and disco was dead, but not in the UK! This is the second in a series of videos posted by spottydog4472 on YouTube of the Disco Dance World Championships, but unfortunately some of them didn't allow embedding. But, this one was so I present it here for your horror and amusement. Gotta love that lighted floor!
What is it about Wonder Woman and drag queens? They just love her. Is it the boots? The golden lariat? or is it that she's an Amazon and in many ways just kind of mannish? Anyway...
We posted this clip on our comics blog a while back and I have been meaning to post it for Clip of the Week for a while. While I was searching for the link on YouTube I found a bunch of other drag Wonder Woman clips. Some are good, some are terrible, but they all pay tribute to that protector of the red, white and blue. I have included them after the jump as a special additional treat.
For those of you watching this clip for the first time, this is a mind boggling performance by drag artist Tandi Iman Dupree. Lady Dupree is sadly no longer with us, but she leaves a lasting impression. Especially on our crotches...
You probably know her best as the glamorous Lt. Uhura on Star Trek, but Nichelle Nichols has done tons of other work including this amazing 70's blaxploitation flick, Truck Turner. Starring Issac Hayes, Truck Turner featured La Nichols as a foul mouthed female pimp. I call her a pimp and not a Madame because this gal is no lady. Amazing dialog and a stellar performance from Nichols.
The visual is totally clean, but if you are watching this at work, you'll want to put headphones on. You'll never look at Lt. Uhura the same way again!
I'm a big fan of exploitation flicks, especially ones starring tough ladies as the lead character. I mean come on, you gotta love any gal that can take down a helicopter with a 350 Magnum. Big Zapper was released in 1973 in the U.K. and while I have never seen the actual film, the trailer tells everything I need to know to know that I would love it. Especially notable is the great voice over actor that Robert Rodriguez copied for his Machete trailer in Grindhouse.
Make the jump to check out a clip of this cinematic masterpiece after the jump featuring a real live British pimp and a prostitute named Miss Crab!
If you have not yet been inducted into the magical world that is Planet Unicorn, prepare to laugh until your sides hurt. Planet Unicorn is a hilarious web cartoon about an eight year old gay boy named Shannon who wishes for a planet of unicorns. Join Feathers, Cadillac and Tom Cruise as they frolic, lisp and prance their way through the magical Planet Unicorn. The theme song is award winning and you can even download it as a ringtone! There are at least six episodes, all of which we'll be bringing you here on Popsucker over the next few days. Enjoy!
Sometimes you just find things on the internet that seemingly everyone has seen but you've never seen yourself. Such was the case with this great Mary Poppins clip I ran across on YouTube. Just goes to show you how anything can be re-edited and with a little bit of different music, becomes a completely different film. Genius!
This one's been floating around for a while. Why since the fifties in fact! I had fully intended on launching PopSucker with this video and have had it sitting in my bookmarks for several months now just waiting to unleash it on an unsuspecting public.
These scare films are always a great source of entertainment to me. But this one doesn't warn of the clap, or syphilis, or even crabs, but something even more insidious... Homosexuals! So, watch and learn my friends, because homosexuals could be coming for you, or you... or YOU!
